“Lux helps me manage all my awardees and share the great work they are doing around the world,” said Erica Key, Executive Director of the Belmont Forum Secretariat.
Partnering with the National Science Foundation (NSF), Lux launched the new Belmont Forum website in June 2017. Dr. Key continued, “Lux’s use of an agile development process really helped our different stakeholders co-design the site and deliver the community engagement tools we need.”
The Belmont Forum website project re-imagined the user experience for a wide range of stakeholders. Lux used an agile development process called “Scrum,” which involved collecting user stories and turning these stories into the requirements. Coding was divided into a series of sprints, with user acceptance testing performed and requirements being amended at the end of each Sprint to ensure the end product really met the users’ needs. Site features include ArcGIS-generated maps to locate Belmont Forum funders and funded investigators, project profiles for 48 Belmont Forum-funded projects, and a resource library for key documents and materials. The site was launched in June 2017.
The Belmont Forum is an international consortium comprised of 25 funding agencies and international science councils. Members mobilize international funding of environmental change research and accelerate its delivery to remove critical barriers to sustainability.
